Exam stress takes its toll
Being in school/college and doing exams is arguably one of the most stressful times of your life. Whether you’re stressed about trying to impress a teacher or parent at home, about not getting the amount of points you want to then get your desired course or knowing that the workload has piled up too far and you don’t know how to catch up.
These are our tips to avoid the stress and try to unwind.
This will be different for everyone, some will find classical music relaxing and some will want to run a mile from it. Find a genre that soothes you and use it to wind down after studying.
This will seem like the last thing that you want to do when you’re stressed and unable to concentrate, but no matter how much you want to curl up in a ball on the couch and watch Netflix, even going for just a light walk, just to get out of the house, will make you feel 10 times better.
#3 Socialize outside of school
It’s really important to keep meeting up with and seeing your friends even though you may feel the need to keep studying, you need this time with your friends to cool off and get back to the real people instead of the people in your textbooks!!
#4 Plan out a routine
If you have a planned out routine of times and subjects to study and work on, it will put you at ease and stop you from getting worried about not fitting everything in on time.
#5 Leave everything outside of the study room
I mean this both metaphorically, and literally. Always leave your phone outside the study room, it will keep away any distractions and temptation to go on it. It’s also so important to leave personal problems outside of that room. Whether its problems with your boyfriend/girlfriend, family arguments or you’re just having a bad day, try to leave it outside the room so that you can get back to concentrating fully.
– Never study for more than two hours without a break, you will cram your head of information and make yourself too tired to carry on.
– While studying for exams, stop dwelling too much about what it’s all for and just focus on the study that you need to do there and then for that particular subject.
